Certainly, not for simply pickup and delivery of specimen kits. I never had to wait as long as I have for recent tests. Until Cleveland Clinic bought out the Indian River Medical Center, I used LabCorp exclusively for all my labs. One would think the corporation would have procedures in place to show these employees in the best light - but this isn't the case. This is commendable, but it doesn't help the efficiencies of Quest. The vast majority of employees are minorities. The first thing one notices about Quest is that they firmly believe in Affirmative Action. However, Quest employees have not mastered the procedure of texting the patient that they are ready for him'/her and actually having that patient seen next. Patients are given the option of waiting in a crowded waiting room or waiting outside. Registration/check-in is by computer - but that's the only streamlined phase of the visit. My return visit, to deliver the samples only - no blood wo rk took over 45 minutes - just to drop off a jar. My first visit to collect the specimen kit and have initial blood work resulted in a 30 minute wait just to pick up a bag of jars and to have blood taken. Recently I used Quest, solely because my physician sent the orders here, for blood work and collection of specimens related to an internal illness that has been plaguing me for months. Quest Diagnostics is a prime example of a poorly run/managed corporation in the health care field.
